The LBMAB research laboratory is located on the third floor of the research block building, near the rectorate. It is affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Boumerdès.It is directed by Prof. KEBBOUCHE GANA Salima.
Accredited since 2020 (Code C0912600), our laboratory is a multidisciplinary research unit specializing in bioinformatics and applied biotechnologies. Located at the University of Boumerdès, Algeria, our mission is to develop innovative scientific solutions addressing key societal challenges in health, environment, and agri-food systems through research, training, and technology transfer.
Our research is driven by a dynamic and multidisciplinary organization into complementary thematic teams that address key scientific and societal challenges. Our areas of expertise include structural bioinformatics and protein structure prediction, molecular modeling and rational drug design, metagenomics and biomathematics, applied and molecular microbiology, biomolecules and health, thin films with innovative biological applications, and biotechnologies dedicated to sustainable production systems and animal health. Together, these teams foster innovation, collaboration, and impactful scientific advancement.
We actively conduct national and international research projects, with results published in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals.
The laboratory is strongly involved in graduate education, contributing to master’s programs and supervising PhD students.
Innovation and technology transfer are key priorities, supported through industrial collaborations and startup development.
